THE WATCHER by John Emms


In a restaurant opposite Leeds town hall, Tony, the restaurant owner, is discussing with Sandra, his girlfriend, the myth about the town hall lions occasionally going for a stroll, which she believes to be true. The conversation also reveals problems in their relationship. The following evening Tony is with a waitress, Marie, who is trying to seduce him – with some success. However, at a crucial moment Marie disappears; then Sandra arrives with suspicions. When Marie reappears a question arises about whether the lions have played a role in the evening’s events.
