THE PEAK INN HAUNTING – AT BLAENAU BRYNGARRON by Owen J Lewis

£3.50

Jane Carter and Stuart Johnson are a young couple from Essex. They have come to Snowdonia National Park for a walking holiday. Lying in the quaint hamlet of Blaenau Bryngarron, the pair come across The Peak Inn. Failing to offer the traditional warm Welsh welcome the two have walked into a den of Welsh Nationalists. They hate the English and make their visit to The Peak Inn as unpleasant as possible. Accusing them of a variety of trumped up charges from dog killing to vandalising the Ladies’ Room, the landlord Ivor Morgan eventually shouts, ‘Gyfraith y Gymraeg.’  Once shouted it cannot be taken back it literally translates into, “The Law of the Welsh.

A kangaroo court is set up in the pub with a Jury of the local rugby lads and any other welsh person in attending. As they are to be sentenced an event occurs so shocking that it ensures the two English Holiday makers are trapped in their eternal walking holiday and their visit to the Peak Inn.
