THE KITCHEN SINK AND THE SWAGGER-STICK by Peter Gartner

£6.00

Lucy hates the kitchen sink and wants it replaced, but she and Erica, her younger sister, have no money. Erica entertains Ron, a plumber, in the hope he will fix the sink as a favour to her, but all he will do is unblock the pipes as a cheap job. Lucy sells an old gyroscope to Doug, the owner of a junk shop, to get enough money to pay Ron. Ron introduces his brother, Al, to the sisters. To give herself some self-esteem, Lucy saves up to buy a swagger-stick from Doug, since she cannot afford to have the kitchen sink replaced. Lucy and Erica explore their characters as Lucy uses the swagger-stick to assert herself in their relationship.
