ROUGH SLEEPERS by Neil Rathmell


A modern version of a medieval legend. An old-fashioned ‘gentleman of the road’ takes refuge in a neglect graveyard outside a disused chapel. The vicar befriends him, but some of her parishioners see him only as a rough sleeper and want to get rid of him.



Jack – a tramp, 60-70

Sylvia – the vicar, age unspecified

Col Megginson – retired army officer, 60-70

Mrs Megginson – his wife, similar age

Charlie – young man, friendly with the Megginsons

Brenda – his wife

Lucy – the ghost of a girl who died at the age of 12

The Dead – ghosts of others buried in the graveyard
