Edie is the long established attendant in a sports centre cloakroom. It is a subterranean cloakroom to which no one seems to come and which Edie has turned into a ‘home from ‘home’. Everything is going well in Edie’s life until the tarty, dysfunctional Daisy arrives claiming she is the ‘oliday relief’. ‘What holiday?’ exclaims Edie. This adult black comedy swings from tenderness to farce and then the sinister. “An emotional rollercoaster”, “Very funny”, “Made me jump out of my seat” are some of the Press reactions to a play that requires two outstanding female leads. Simple to stage.
“I’d give my eye teeth to play Daisy again,” said actor Sally Day, who played the role of Daisy.
