When Kallik and Amka go to the shore to watch the sunset, they are confronted by Qalupalik, the Inuit creature of legend, reported to dwell in the sea and steal away children who do not listen to their parents. But Kallik is older now, and no longer believes in such things. So when Qalupalik offers to help him uncover a hidden power within himself, he is only too eager to follow.
