A retelling of the biblical Book of Jacob performed with two actors. One plays Jacob, the son of Isaac. The second actor plays all the other characters – men and women – in Jacob’s story.

It begins at the ford of Jabbock on the night before his reunion with his estranged brother, Esau. He meets a passing stranger who gets Jacob to tell the whole story of his betrayal of his brother, his flight from his father’s house and his two marriages to the daughter of Laban.

The play ends with the famous struggle until dawn between the stranger and Jacob.
