HERBERT SCHIENMAN: late 20s – early 30s, a professional graduate student. Herbert is the type of person who is uncomfortable in every possible social situation and equally uncomfortable with himself. A loner. Jewish.

ROSALIE MANNASSEE: late 20s – early 30s, street, cocky, a former tomboy. A baseball fanatic who can play the game. A loner, Italian- American.
