Are You Lonesome Tonight? was performed at Edinburgh, Buxton and Oxford Fringe in 2010, and Brighton and Camden Fringe in 2011. It received its US premiere in home of Elvis, Memphis, in September 2015, and was performed there again in August 2016.
“This year is Memphis’s bi-centennial year, and as part of the city’s celebration of that landmark, Memphis theatre legend Ruby O’Gray put on two plays about key figures from Memphis’ history. One was her play set in the week following the assassination of Martin Luther King in the city in 1968 and the other was Are You Lonesome Tonight? my play about two people heading off to see every day of an Elvis Presley tour in order to put the spark back in their marriage. The only problem is that the tour is due to start on August 17th, 1977 and the King leaves the building for the last time one day before that.” Andy Moseley
